My Journey
My journey of photography started when I was a child as I watched my father develop pictures in the darkroom of our basement. Not only did I find this science to be fascinating, but it was a hobby that I could enjoy with my father. I remember taking thousands of pictures with our old Polaroid camera -- the best form of instant gratification ever! Since my childhood, I have swayed off-and-on of my interest in photography, but it has always stayed a part of my mind. I live my life as though every moment should have a snapshot taken of it so that it can be enjoyed forever. My new love for photography comes from a deep desire to connect with the people and the world around me, as well as a way to capture the simple pleasures in life. My dog taught me this... the simple pleasures. Before she passed, I remember spending afternoons just sitting in the grass and watching the people, or listening to all the different sounds. She was so good at just being. She taught me how to do just that; how to be. Through my photography of pets, and the lives in which they live, I hope to capture the beautiful essence of love and happiness. My dog Molly was the happiest dog and all she ever did was love. I hope that I can share that love with the world through photography.
